TOOLS

We find that creative tools are often a really overlooked aspect of the makers toolbox. There are so many options, that can be found in the landscapes around us, to make into a array of creative implements. These tools not only look beautiful, and very quickly become cherished, they also deepen the creative experience when using them, furthering connection and integration with our work and the living planet.

We make pens from both bamboo, reeds and feathers in the form of quills. We are also continuously trying out new more experimental options.

Making paint brushes is a beautiful craft, it takes time and patience when working with fine hairs, but the end results are very unique and satisfying. With our naturally dyed wools and hand made plant strings, we decorate our brushes, giving a personality to each brush.

Currently we make a range of brushes suitable for working with ink and watercolour, however, we are working to increase this range to include brushes for oil painting.

Using various plant stems with hollow centers such as fennel and angelica, very effective charcoal, pastel and crayon holders can be made. These can also be helpful in making pen lids and paintbrush handles.
